WORK PACKS

Work Packs allow the user to package Job Cards for scheduling and assignment. The Work Packs home screen is divided with the Work Pack listing on the left-hand side and the selected Work Pack details on the right-hand side.

The Work Pack listing allows the user to sort and select existing Work Packs. From the WP details, the user can modify the selected Work Pack details and add or remove Job Cards. Work Packs can be created from either the Work Packs sub-module, the Job Card Listing, or the Maintenance Forecast.

Work Pack Status

  • New: This status is assigned for newly created Work Packs and is used when building a Work Pack. Job Cards can be added to a New Work Pack and Job Cards can also be removed or transferred from New Work Packs.

  • Open: This status serves to advise production personnel that a Work Pack is planned and ready to execute. Additional Job Cards can be added to an Open Work Pack and Job Cards can also be removed or transferred from an Open Work Pack.

  • Pending Closure: This status is used by a Production Manager to indicate to Planning that the production team has done as much as they can and are relegating any remaining non-completed jobs to a later date / later Work Pack. Additional Job Cards cannot be added to Pending Closure Work Packs. Job Cards can be removed or transferred out of Pending Closure Work Packs.

  • Closed: This status is used by a Planner or Production Manager to outright close a Work Pack. A Work Pack can only be closed if all JCs in it are closed. Job Cards cannot be added, removed or transferred to or from Closed Work Packs.

  • User security roles are available that can in-turn determine who is allowed to Create, Open, Indicate Closure or Close Work Packages. How these security roles are set will determine Work Package departmental workflow within your organization. For example, a common and recommended scenario is to allow Planning to create, Open and Close Work Packages while Production Managers would be allowed to Indicate Closure. In this scenario, when a Planner changes the status of a Work Package to Open, it is a hand-off of the Work Pack from Planning to Production. Conversely, when a Production Manager changes the status of a Work Package to Indicate Closure it is a hand-back of the Work Pack from Production to Planning.
