CORRECTIONS

Once a log is posted some data can no longer be changed. Hours and landings are examples of such data for Time Update logs. A correction log is required to correct erroneously posted hours or landings.

For Prior Maintenance logs, neither log entries nor details may be deleted subsequent to post, although certain elements of these can be modified using TMI Manager.  In order to correct errors in posted logs, it may be necessary to create additional correction logs. Common reasons for Prior Maintenance correction logs include missed or incorrect entry details.

Correcting Time Update Log Errors

  1. Click on Technical Records and select TMI Entry.

  2. Select a serial number for the aircraft or component and click OK.

  3. Enter an appropriate log name, date, hours correction value, and landings correction value.

    1. Negative values are allowed to decrement time on affected assemblies.

  4. Modify base and factor values in the separately time tracked popup editor if applicable, being certain to click Save on completion.

  5. After verifying the correction log details, click Post.

AIS recommends that the Log Number is given a distinguishing name to identify it as a Correction log. Further, you may elect to create a placeholder entry for the post, with a Job and Rectification indicating that “this is a corrective time adjustment” for subsequent posts to the Technical Log and Maintenance Log of affected assemblies.
